Moderately warm, sunny weather with scattered cumulus clouds is expected this weekend, along with scattered showers and thunderstorms, confirms a forecast by HungaroMet Nonprofit Zrt. sent to MTI on Thursday.
On Friday, plenty of sunshine is generally expected alongside developing cumulus clouds and a few high clouds. In the eastern part of the country, showers may occur in some places, and there may be occasional thunder in certain areas until the afternoon. The northwest wind will be brisk, with high temperatures ranging between 22 and 23 degrees.
On Saturday, cloud cover will temporarily increase from the northwest, becoming patchy and cumulus-like during the day; a more significant decrease in cloud cover is likely from the northwest starting in the late afternoon. Scattered rain, showers, and possibly thunderstorms may occur, primarily in the northwest and north. The westerly wind will pick up and may even strengthen in places.
By dawn, temperatures will generally drop between 10 and 15 degrees, but in the colder northeastern and eastern regions, it may be several degrees cooler. Highs will range between 22 and 27 degrees.
On Sunday, plenty of sunshine is expected alongside high and cumulus clouds, but cumulus cloud formation will become more intense in the southwest and south, and showers and thunderstorms may develop in many places, especially in those regions. In the northeastern part of the country, westerly winds will strengthen over a large area, while in the southwest, wind speeds will remain mostly light or moderate, with strong, gusty winds occurring only in the vicinity of thunderstorms. Nighttime lows will range from 9 to 17 degrees, and daytime highs from 21 to 30 degrees; cooler weather is expected in the northeast, while warmer conditions are expected in the south.
