Saltillo, Coahuila.- With the 99.86 percent of the computed minuteshe PRI remains in the lead in the elections to renew the Congress of Coahuila.
According to figures from the Preliminary Electoral Results Program (PREP), the triumph of the tricolor party is confirmed in the 16 electoral districts of the entity, with 55.02 percent of the votes, followed by the Morena-Party of Labor coalitionwith 26.20 percent of the votes.
The local Nuevas Ideas party is positioned as the third political force in the state, with 5.88 percent of the votes, while the BREADwhich three years ago formed the winning alliance for the governorship with the PRI and the PRD, collapsed after barely reaching the 2.16 percent of the votes.
Citizen Movementwith 1.96 percent, and the Green Partywith 2.60 percent of the votes are also the big losers.
The citizen participation ranged around 50.73 percent of the nominal list of voters, much higher percentage which was expected.
As the calculation of the Preliminary Electoral Results Program closes this morning (PREP), the PRI consolidated itself as the winner of the elections to renew the State Congressby winning the 16 electoral districts of the entity, with 684 thousand 515 votes, 55.01 percent of the total, more than double the 326 thousand 012 obtained by the coalition Morena-Party of Laborwhich represented 26.20 percent of the total.
The election day had a historical participation of 51 percent of the voters registered on the nominal list, a percentage never before seen in a legislative election.
The total number of votes registered in this electoral contest was one million 244 thousand 124.
The National Action Party registered a dramatic collapse, obtaining only 2.16 percent of the vote, while the Citizen Movement ranked lower, with 1.96 percent of the vote.
