More than 100 people suffered from heat stroke in the fan zone in Houston, Texas, at the FIFA Fan Festival, on the first day of the World Cup, reports the Fox Weather. According to the emergency department of the town hall, 30,000 people went out, of which 110 people were treated for heat-related cases. 85 people were treated in the cooling facilities set up on the spot, and then they could go back to work, 27 people were already sent to the health care points, but 21 people were released quickly, four were taken to the hospital.
The city tries to provide as much shade, cooled rooms and hydration points on site as possible. Ambulances are also on standby for emergencies. The temperature in Houston has already reached 32 degrees this week. By the way, seven World Cup matches will be played in the city between June 14 and July 4.
