The board of directors of the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT), chaired by Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Tourism, Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, met on Wednesday June 24, 2026 in Rabat, in the presence of Achraf Fayda, Director General of the Office. The council’s work first confirmed the solidity of the Kingdom’s tourism dynamic.
After a historic year 2025 marked by the reception of nearly 20 million tourists and 138 billion dirhams in travel revenue, the indicators for the first half of 2026 remain positive. At the end of May 2026, Morocco recorded a 7% increase in international tourist arrivals, a 21% increase in travel revenue as well as a 9% growth in overnight stays in classified accommodation establishments. On this occasion, Fatim-Zahra Ammor declared: “The 2023-2026 roadmap demonstrated that by acting simultaneously on air connectivity, promotion, investment, quality and territorial development, Morocco could change scale and compete with the most successful destinations in the world. » The council also welcomed the progress made in air connectivity, with contracted capacity reaching 7.74 million seats for the summer 2026 season, an increase of 13% compared to the previous year, driven in particular by the opening of new air bases in Rabat, Marrakech and Tetouan as well as the launch of 52 new international services during the first half of 2026.
