With a length of 274 kilometers, the new Very High Voltage power line (THT) 400 kV connecting the substation Chemaia at the post of Médiouna required an investment of 529 million dirhams (MDH), indicates theONEE in a press release, specifying that its achievement is part of its investment program aimed at strengthening, modernizing and securing the national electricity transmission network.
According to the same source, this new line constitutes a key link in the national electricity transmission network, which today extends over more than 30,700 km of HV and EHT lines and has a transformation capacity of 22,120 MVA, guaranteeing efficient and secure operation of the national network.
The press release also underlines that this achievement is part of the vast development program of the ONEE national electricity transmission network, which plans, by 2030, to increase the length of the network to 37,000 km and its transformation capacity to 35,000 MVA, thanks to the construction of new lines and new THT substations.
Through this ambitious program, ONEE continues to strengthen the network’s transit capacities, consolidates the security and resilience of the national electricity system and provides the country with the infrastructure necessary for the massive integration of renewable energies, the realization of major structuring projects and the satisfaction of the sustained growth in national electricity demand.
This new achievement reflects ONEE’s commitment to achieving modern, reliable and efficient infrastructure serving the economic and social development of the country and confirms its central role in the Kingdom’s energy transition.
