The business community in France looking for new opportunities in Morocco. A delegation from MEDEF (Movement of Companies of France) International traveled to the Kingdom to hold working meetings and exchanges with Moroccan officials as well as representatives of the CGEM (General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises). Several strategic economic sectors are concerned, notably agriculture. “In a context of modernization and development of the agricultural and agri-food sectors and the rise of investments, Morocco offers a particularly favorable environment for the development of partnerships. National strategies, notably Generation Green 2020-2030 with more than 10 billion euros, emphasize water management, adaptation to climate change and the development of transformation,” specifies MEDEF International, explaining that the mission in Morocco places emphasis on the identification of concrete opportunities for French companies, with particular attention paid to the articulation between local needs and adapted financing solutions. The French representatives notably met the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Ahmed El Bouari. Agricultural exchanges between Morocco and France over the period 2022-2025 confirm a favorable and balanced dynamic illustrating a structuring economic complementarity, serving stable and mutually beneficial exchanges, underlined Ahmed El Bouari. “We welcome the strengthening of the France-Morocco Economic Partnership since April 2024. The exchanges and meetings between our economic actors have made it possible to further consolidate our strategic partnership and identify new areas of collaboration and investment opportunities,” said Mr. El Bouari during a meeting with the president of the Agricultural and Agri-Food Pole of MEDEF International, Jean-Paul Torris. Also welcoming the holding of the Morocco-France Joint Agricultural and Forestry Committee, on the sidelines of the International Agricultural Show in Morocco (SIAM) 2026, the minister highlighted the strong potential for cooperation between the two countries in key sectors, notably the desalination of seawater, the generalization of intelligent irrigation, soil health, agroforestry and seeds resistant to climate change. In this sense, he noted that French companies
specialized in bio-inputs and ecological transition techniques will find in Morocco an ideal ground for innovation. Mr. El Bouari also focused on Agritech, indicating that the use of connected sensors, surveillance drones and artificial intelligence to manage crops is an absolute priority. Furthermore, he invited French companies to co-invest in local processing plants and in the ecological cold chain, with the aim of conquering new regional and international markets together. This meeting is part of the strengthening of relations between Morocco and France in the fields of agriculture, agri-food and technologies applied to the agricultural sector. French companies operating in the agricultural and agri-food sectors are ready to strengthen their investments and seal new partnerships in Morocco, affirmed, for his part, the president of the Agricultural and Agri-Food Pole of MEDEF (Movement of Companies of France) International, Jean-Paul Torris. The latter praised the excellent climate of collaboration uniting the two countries, ensuring that French companies are fully prepared to support the Kingdom’s great ambition, driven in particular by the plan associating green energy with irrigation.
Energy infrastructure
The energy sector is not left out. The CGEM welcomed, on Wednesday, a delegation of French companies from the energy sector led by MEDEF International, during a meeting dedicated to strengthening economic cooperation between Moroccan and French companies in the strategic sectors of the energy transition. This meeting was chaired by Reda Hamedoun, executive director of Nareva and president of the Green Economy Commission of the CGEM, as well as by Bruno Jacquemin, president of the Critical Materials Taskforce of MEDEF International and secretary general of the A3M. In a context marked by the acceleration of energy and industrial transitions on a global scale, the exchanges highlighted the numerous opportunities that Morocco offers in the fields of renewable energies, energy infrastructure, industrial decarbonization, critical materials and green hydrogen. Participants were thus able to benefit from presentations and feedback provided in particular by Fenelec, the Energy Federation, TAQA Morocco, Nareva, LafargeHolcim Maroc and INEE, a subsidiary of the CDG Group. These interventions made it possible to present the major structuring projects undertaken by the Kingdom as well as the growing positioning of Morocco as a benchmark industrial and energy platform, called upon to play a major role in the value chains of the low-carbon economy. Beyond the presentations, this meeting promoted direct exchanges between Moroccan and French companies around concrete cooperation and investment projects. Discussions focused on partnership prospects in several strategic segments, with the aim of strengthening business competitiveness, accelerating innovation and supporting the decarbonization ambitions of the economies of both countries.
