The Albanian fighter, Dennis Buzukja, will have a special challenge in two months. On August 1 in Belgrade, Serbia, an evening of the UFC, the largest and most famous series of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), is held.
And Buzukja will also be a part of the evening, many sites that write about “Ultimate Fighting Championship” and MMA announced on Monday.
Buzukja will fight with Bogdan Grad, the Romanian representing Austria.
Buzukja is born in the USA and represents the USA. But he is Albanian.
In MMA, Buzukja has a record of 12 wins and six losses. Meanwhile, in the UFC, his balance is one win and four losses. In order to continue fighting in the UFC, Buzukja needs to score a few more victories, so his fight in the Serbian capital is expected to be very important.
Grad has a record of 15 wins and four losses, but has lost the last two fights.
In 2024, there was a sensation when Buzukja planned to go out in the cage wrapped in the Albanian flag. But this was not allowed in the last moments. This happened in the fight that Buzukja won against Connor Matthews.
“I’m blessed to represent Albania and it’s crazy that just before I went on stage they came and told me that I can’t hold the flag because it had golden ornaments on it,” said Buzukja.
He had expressed regret that he was not allowed to go out with the flag.
Now Buzukja is expected to fight in Belgrade, on the first night of the UFC in Serbia. The number of Albanians who have infiltrated the UFC is not large. Ilir Latifi still remains the fighter with the best career in this popular mixed martial arts series.
Buzukja fight in the category up to 66 kilograms. Serbian media have also written about the appearance of the Albanian fighter in Belgrade.
