The International Federation World Boxing presented an updated world ranking of boxers by weight category. The new version of the table takes into account the results of athletes for the period from July 2024 to May 2026, including key tournaments – the Asian Championships in Ulaanbaatar and the World Cup in Brazil. Representatives of Tajikistan also found their place in the updated ranking.
Several Tajik boxers entered the top 20 of their weight categories:
– 57 kg (women): 12th place – Mijgona Samadova (300 points);
– 55 kg (men): 12th place – Anushervon Fozilov (150 points);
– 70 kg (men): 12th place – Shamsher Saidov (150 points);
– 80 kg (men): 11th place – Nekruz Salimov (300 points);
– 90 kg (men): 7th place – Parviz Karimov (500 points);
– over 90 kg (men): 18th place – Muhammad Abroridinov (150 points).
The highest result among Tajik boxers was shown by Parviz Karimov, who secured a place in the top 10 of his category, taking 7th place. Most weight categories are dominated by representatives from Asia, especially Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

How the rating is formed
The World Boxing system takes into account the results of athletes at key tournaments: Olympic Games, World Championships, World Cups, continental championships, multi-sport competitions. Points are awarded for performances in these tournaments and accumulated over a three-year cycle. In this case, no more than the four best results of each boxer are taken into account.
The rating plays an important role in seeding athletes at international competitions, and also affects the status of fighters in world boxing.
Despite the fact that most representatives of Tajikistan are still outside the top 10, the very fact of their presence in the world ranking indicates the growth of the team’s level. It is especially important that several athletes at once secured a place in the 10–15 place region – this is the zone from which you can make a leap into the elite with successful performances at the nearest tournaments.
The next major start will take place in June – the World Boxing World Cup in China, followed by the European Championships and Asian Games. It is these competitions that can significantly affect the positions of Tajik boxers.
