Hundreds of thousands of users around the world today reported problems accessing Facebook, while some users also faced difficulties using Instagram and Messenger.
According to data from the DownDetector platform, the problems started around 9:30 a.m. ET, with more than 100,000 reports of Facebook being unavailable. Users often reported that they could not log in to their profiles or received a message that the page was not available.
In addition to Facebook, problems were also observed with Instagram and Messenger, where some users complained about difficult loading of content, interruption of communication and unsuccessful application refresh.
Meta confirmed that some of its services were unavailable and said it was working to fix the problem. It was later reported that the platforms are gradually returning to normal function, although full stabilization of services may take some time.
So far, no official reason for the suspension has been announced. It is not known whether this is a technical fault, a problem with the server infrastructure or some other type of system error.
