Tom Cruise, who himself has a star on the Walk of Fame, was the first to address the audience and talk about Beckham’s remarkable career.

He emphasized that Beckham’s story is a true Hollywood story of a boy who believed in something bigger than himself and who, with his work, managed to change the sport and influence generations that came after him.

Victoria Beckham, who appeared at the event in an elegant dress, joked in her speech that she had always thought that she would become a star thanks to the movie “Spice World”.
Then she spoke about her husband, emphasizing that the public knows him as an athlete, businessman and activist, but behind all those titles stands a man whose greatest strength is kindness, loyalty and devotion to the people he loves.
“His ambition, determination and work ethic are well known, but I would also like to highlight his kindness, loyalty and devotion to his family,” she said.
“My family is my greatest achievement”
When it was his turn to address, Beckham called Tom Cruise “the biggest movie star of our time” and revealed an interesting detail from the beginning of the love story with Victoria.
“The fact that my first date with Victoria was on the ‘Jerry Maguire’ film is a really amazing circle that has closed,” he said.
Beckham thanked Cruise for helping him and Victoria feel welcome in Los Angeles nearly two decades ago and for remaining a loyal friend over the years.
The former football player also revealed that a great inspiration in his life was the basketball player Michael Jordan.
“He’s the reason I wore number 23. He showed me you can be more than just an athlete,” Beckham said.
He dedicated the most emotional part of his speech to his family.
“Most of all I want to thank my incredible family, my parents and sisters who have always supported my dreams. Victoria, my wonderful wife of almost 30 years, without you none of this would have been possible. And my children are the reason I get up every morning,” he said.
He added that he hopes that one day his grandchildren will come to the Walk of Fame and hear the story of a boy who dreamed big.
Brooklyn Beckham did not appear at the ceremony
