Facebook, Instagram and Messenger users can access their accounts again after a global outage by the company Meta lasted for more than an hour.
The company said that systems are gradually returning to normal function, but warned that additional time will be needed for full stabilization of all services.
“We’re back, although it may take a while for everything to be fully back to normal,” Meta’s head of communications, Andy Stone, announced on Platform X.
During the outage, a number of users were automatically logged out of their accounts and were unable to log back in. A “something went wrong” message appeared on the screen, while Messenger was disabled from sending and receiving messages.
According to the data of the platform DownDetector (DownDetector), which monitors interruptions of Internet services, the number of reported problems reached more than 132,000. However, after the restoration of the services, the number of new applications has decreased drastically and is around 600 tonight.
For now, “Meta” has not published details about the reasons that led to the suspension of Facebook, Instagram and Messenger.
