A 44-year-old woman was found dead at an address in Nuuk last year. Now the case will go to court.
Monday the 22nd. June, a 30-year-old man will appear before the Sermersooq District Court in Nuuk, where he is charged with having killed a 44-year-old woman last year.
On 7 August 2025, a 44-year-old woman was found dead in a block on Ceresvej in Nuuk.
A then 29-year-old man was arrested and brought before the circuit court, where he was detained for 28 days, charged with manslaughter. The man is still detained in the prison in Ilulissat.
The case will now go to court.
According to the indictment, which Sermitsiaq has seen, the man should have killed the woman by violence and strangulation between midnight and 02:35.
The prosecution is seeking indefinite detention.
In addition, the public prosecutor’s office is requesting compensation for survivors of DKK 100,000 for the deceased’s child.
Update: The conduct of the trial has been postponed. On Monday morning, Sermitsiaq was unable to obtain a new date for the trial.
