Yesterday, the mayor of Brvenica Municipality, Jovica Ilievski, died suddenly at the age of 58.
The causes of death have not yet been announced.
Ilievski was a well-known political figure in this municipality, where he led the local institution in recent years. He was married and the father of two adult children.
His career was divided between healthcare, local politics and sports management.
From 1999 to November 2021, he was employed at PHI Clinical Hospital Tetovo. From November 11, 2021, he was elected mayor of Brvenica Municipality for the period 2021-2025.
Previously, in the period 2013-2017, he was a member of the Council of the Municipality of Brvenica.
As a great lover, he was actively involved in the field of sports, was a supporter of a number of sports events and made great contributions to sports.
From 2001 to 2013, he participated in the youth categories within the FFM, and from 2013 to 2021, he was a member of the youth national team under the age of 21 (U21) within the FFM.
From the middle of 2021, he was a member of the A-national team. He was also vice president of the Tetovo Football Association from 2016 until then.
