The former vice-president of Pristina, Dardan Sejdiu, has said that the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) is denying the coalition with the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) because it can be used by the Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV) for the parliamentary elections that will be held on June 7.
Yesterday, the mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, formalized the coalition with the PDK. But this coalition did not have the support of the LDK, the party with which Rama won the elections, which responded by denying the agreement.
In an interview on KTV’s “tre8tre” show, Sejdiu said that LVV uses every advantage to create the impression that LDK and PDK are together.
“The LDK has denied (the coalition) for two reasons. The first is because it was not the LDK that negotiated this coalition, but it was the president Rama. And since we are entering national elections, I know that Vetëvendosja uses every advantage it has to create the impression that the LDK and the PDK are together because this suits them for the race at the national level when they say they are all the same but we are different”, he said.
But on the other hand, as Sejdiu says, the question must be asked whether VV is governing in Podujevë or in the municipalities where it has power.
“It is not good to make these low blows, to wear them with half-truths and to build public narratives that create divisions. Kosovo must go beyond this, Pristina too, so that in Pristina we can see a transformation as much as possible in the next three years, because for the past six years I have a lot of criticism”, he added.
