The concerns of the residents of the district of Elbasan regarding the progress of the implementation of the VIII Corridor project were raised today in the plenary session by the deputy of the SP, Sara Mila, who also listed some problems that the residents are facing on the ground.
“Just these days, within the framework of Albania’s affairs, I have visited Papri 12 times, where this process is facing some problems.
In Broshke, land upgrading and the construction of secondary roads parallel to the corridor are required, because without them, the circulation of ambulances, fire engines and agricultural vehicles becomes difficult. In Valas, residents are looking for a solution for the Canë street, with a functional underpass that guarantees normal movement. Meanwhile, many families do not appear in official notebooks or have inaccuracies on the surface. In Papër, the plots have been divided and the farmers cannot move normally on their lands, while names and accuracy in the documentation are still missing”, said deputy Mila.
Dwelling on other problems in the areas affected by this project, she added that “in Vidhas, most agricultural families do not appear in the lists at all and the lack of secondary roads makes access to the land almost impossible, while in Balldren the same concerns are repeated: lack of names, inaccuracies in the surface and uncertainty about compensation.”
Calling on the democratic colleagues of this district to come together for the benefit of the residents, Mila asks the municipality to be close to the people, verify the cases, guarantee transparency and provide answers.
“This great national project should be accompanied by an equally great care for every family it affects. So that development is not only infrastructure, but also justice for the people who live near it. The Papër – Elbasan axis has all the opportunities to shine, Corridor VIII is Elbasan’s European guarantee; but we will have to proceed as Europeans as well, especially in hearing the problems of those we represent”, she said from the Assembly floor.
