The Financial Agency (FINA) has published data on the income and profits of HNL football players for the year 2025. More precisely, the data of those who are registered as entrepreneurs have been published, because they are obliged to publish a financial statement, while football players who are self-employed are not.
In practice, the majority of players in the elite class of Croatian football are registered through a trade, which means that they operate as natural persons, are governed by the income tax system and their finances are not publicly disclosed on Fina.
As a rule, those with lower incomes often remain registered as craftsmen, while companies are opened by players with higher incomes, especially if part of their income is made up of various sponsorships. Also, when a player registers as an entrepreneur, they can be credited for various expenses, such as agents and managers, marketing and PR, and even equipment.
On the other hand, their incomes and expenses become public, and we checked how much the Hajduk and Dinamo players earn, and who are the highest-paid HNL players and how much they earn.
How much do Hajdukov earn?
If we look at Hajduk’s first team, only five players are registered as entrepreneurs. Marko Livaja last year, it earned 1.71 million euros, and its profit was 1.29 million. The second highest paid player on the team Gonzalo Garcia is Filip Krovinovićwhich earned 624,948 euros and recorded a profit of almost half a million euros.
Anthony Kalik it earned 351,834 euros, but had expenses of as much as 212,465 euros, of which, for example, 69,084 euros fall on material costs. Just for comparison, Livaja’s material costs amount to 22,622 euros.
Ivica Ivušić earned 239,254 euros, a Ante Rebić 187,500. Both arrived in Hajduk this summer.
How much do Dynamo players earn?
The Dinamo player who earned the most in 2025 is Josip Mišić. He had revenues of 1.22 million euros, of which his profit amounted to 845,120 euros. This means that Livaja is by far the highest paid player in the HNL.
After Mišić they follow Ronaël Pierre-Gabriel with revenues of 666,442 euros and Dino Perićwhose income is 601,087 euros, although he did not even play in 2025, and in the last two and a half years he spent a total of four minutes on the field. Yes, you read that right…
Miha Zajc, Matteo Pérez Vinlöf, Kévin Théophile-Catherine, Juan Córdoba, Luka Stojković and Niko Galesic they still raised more than half a million euros, and they will follow Ismaël Bennacer (427,169 euros), Sergio Dominguez (344,069 euros), Marko Soldo (274,583 euros), Mounsef Coppersmith (192,016 euros) i Cardoso Varela (178,952 euros):
The only Rijeka player who is registered as an entrepreneur is Amer Gojakand his income in 2025 amounted to 525,224 euros, while his profit was 461,225 euros. Information about the captain is available on Fina from Osijek Marko Malenicawhich earned 330,471 euros, David Čolina, whose income amounted to 99,920 euros (he arrived at the club this summer on loan from Augsburg), and Borni Barišićwhose income amounted to 52,839 euros (he also joined the club last summer, as a free agent).
Top 20 in 2025.
All of those we mentioned are currently playing in the HNL, but if we look at the ranking of the 20 highest paid players in the HNL in the whole year 2025, the situation is somewhat different and more interesting, because the high positions are held by footballers who have since gone abroad.
It’s on top Marko Pjacawho for half a season in Dinamo earned 2.17 million euros, and his profit was 1.68 million. In his case, it is not only about the salary, but also the compensation he received from the club based on the mutual termination of the contract.
Let’s remind Zvonimir Boban he considered Pjaca’s contract problematic because it contained a clause according to which it would be automatically extended as soon as he started playing in the new season, and his annual salary was a little over one million euros. Pjaca signed that contract with the former sports director of the Blues Marko Marićand Boban asked him to waive the automatic extension clause, which Pjaca refused. Given that it would be difficult to sell him with such a high salary, Boban agreed with Pjaco to terminate the contract by mutual consent.
The same scenario happened also Bruno Petkovićwhich is in third place in terms of income in 2025. The Kocaelispor striker earned 1.54 million euros last year as a Dinamo player, and earned 1.19 million. Livaja was between him and Pjaca, and Mišić was right below him in fourth position. Dinamo’s captain, on the other hand, is followed by two former Blues players. That is, one of them is currently on loan abroad…
Samy Mmaee he joined Azerbaijan’s Qarabağ last summer on a one-year loan, and in 2025 he earned 780,955 euros as a Dinamo player. Sandro Kulenović had 697,241 euros in income before he left Maksimir this summer and went to Italy’s Torino for compensation of three million euros.
The top 10 is rounded out by Pierre-Gabriel, Krovinović, Perić and Zajc, while between the 11th and 20th positions we have two more former Dinamo footballers. Dejan Ljubičićwho moved to Schalke this winter, earned 551,512 euros last year, and Stefan Ristovskiwhich has been in Sarajevo since last summer, 413,619 euros.
Finally, we note that the above data do not only refer to club salaries, but may also include income from sponsorship contracts and other sources related to football activity.
