His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani made a phone call yesterday with His Excellency President Donald Trump, President of the friendly United States of America.
During the call, they discussed the close strategic relations between the two countries and ways to support and enhance them, in addition to the latest developments in the regional and international situation, especially developments related to diplomatic efforts to reduce escalation in the region.
In this context, His Highness the Emir and His Excellency the US President reviewed the results of the consultations and understandings that took place between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, which led to progress in the understandings proposed within the framework of the negotiating path.
The US President stressed that the understandings reached were approved by all concerned parties, with the participation and support of a number of brotherly and friendly countries, including the State of Qatar, while efforts continue to complete the final procedures in preparation for announcing the arrangements for signing the agreement.
His Highness the Emir expressed the State of Qatar’s welcome of the efforts aimed at resolving differences through dialogue and peaceful means, stressing the State of Qatar’s support for everything that would consolidate regional and international security and stability, and enhance opportunities for peace and cooperation among the countries of the region. His Highness also expressed his thanks to His Excellency the American President for his efforts made to support the path of calm and de-escalation.
