The supply of electricity has been re-established for the whole of Uummannaq, Nukissiorfiit informs.
Nukissiorfiit has Wednesday informed in the evening that the company’s employees have re-established the electricity supply to the whole of Uummannaq.
Thus, all areas of the city are once again supplied with electricity, after the city has been hit by an extensive power failure since Monday, when the power plant caught fire.
Nukissiorfiit says that the work has been extensive and required an extraordinary effort from both local employees, called-in crew and business partners.
– We are therefore very happy that the supply is now back in the whole city. Although the electricity supply has now been re-established, short-term outages or interruptions may still occur in the coming period, while the facilities are monitored, adjusted and fine-tuned to ensure stable and robust operation, writes Nukissiorfiit.
The company thanks the citizens of Uummannaq for their patience, understanding and support, as well as Nukissiorfiit’s employees and the many partners who have worked around the clock under demanding conditions to get the supply back to the city.
