This Monday, a group of municipal retirees demonstrated around the Municipal Fund to demand intervention by the Superintendency of Retirements and Pensions. “It is unsustainable; retirees are sick and hungry.”
Rita Duartepresident of the Paraguayan Association of Retirees and Pensioners, confirmed that the main claim they have is for the lack of payments that extend from the month of March, so They insist on intervention by the Superintendency of Retirements.
“We want the intervention of the fund; a response that can get us out of this calamitous situation we are in. We are practically reaching three months without being paid; There are many retirees who have not yet received pay,” he added.
Likewise, he pointed out that the objective is to find a “root solution”by the Superintendency of Retirements and Pensions.

“It is unsustainable; there are hungry, sick retirees”he declared.

“They don’t have anything to eat”
For its part, Francisca Gonzalezwho came to Asunción representing the retirees of Encarnación, assured that there are “comrades who don’t have anything to eat” due to lack of payments.
For its part, Pedro Benitez Aldanaanother protester, stressed that there are officials “screwed“and even retirees with an irregular salary, inside the Municipal Fund.
