1st client: The Minister of Tourism, Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, indicated, Tuesday in the Chamber of Advisors, that internal tourism recorded more than 4 million overnight stays at the end of the first five months of this year, an increase of 2% compared to the same period of 2025.
In response to oral questions, Ms. Ammor specified that internal tourism represented 28% of the total nights recorded in 2025, stressing that the Moroccan tourist is “the first customer of national tourism”.
The establishment of a tourism offer adapted to the expectations of the Moroccan tourist constitutes a strategic priority and an essential lever for the development of internal tourism, she said, recalling that the 2023-2026 roadmap provides for two dedicated thematic axes (“Seaside” and “Nature & discovery”).
Ms. Ammor also noted that internal tourism is concerned by five transversal sectors, namely “Gastronomy and Local Products”, “Festivals and Moussems”, “Sustainable Development”, “Crafts and local know-how” and “Alternative Accommodation”. The objective, she explained, is to make domestic tourism an activity spread throughout the year and covering all regions of the Kingdom, rather than limiting it to the summer season alone or to a limited number of tourist destinations.
