Lieutenant General His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Chief of the National Guard, met with Field Marshal Asim Munir, Commander of the Defense Forces and Chief of Staff of the Pakistani Army, at the headquarters of the General Command of the Pakistani Armed Forces in the city of Rawalpindi, in the presence of Brigadier General His Highness Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Assistant Director of the National Guard Staff for Operations and Training.
During the meeting, His Highness the Chief of the National Guard conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister.
His Highness stressed the depth of bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, praising the continuous development witnessed in the areas of military cooperation and exchange of experiences, stressing the importance of continuing joint work to enhance the strategic partnership between the two sides.
For his part, Field Marshal Assem Mounir welcomed the visit of His Highness the Chief of the National Guard, stressing the importance of this visit in strengthening military relations and joint cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
The meeting also discussed a number of issues of common interest, and ways to develop military cooperation and coordination between the National Guard and the Pakistani Army, in addition to discussing regional and international developments of common interest and current events in the Middle East.
