From 20 to 25 April 2026, Tajikistan is hosting European Immunization Week, an annual campaign aimed at raising awareness of the importance of vaccination. The initiative is being implemented with the support of the World Health Organization and international partners.
As Asia-Plus was told by the Republican Center for Immunoprophylaxis, this year the campaign is being held under the motto: “Vaccines work for every generation!”
The main goal of the initiative is to increase public awareness of the importance of vaccination to protect health at all stages of life. It is emphasized that immunization is necessary not only for children, but also for adolescents, adults and the elderly.
It is also noted that the country maintains high coverage of essential vaccinations – more than 90%, including polio, measles, mumps, rubella and pentavalent vaccines.
An important achievement was the inclusion of the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine in the National Immunization Schedule in October 2025.
It should be noted that from April 1 to April 30, vaccination against the human papilloma virus (HPV) is being carried out in Tajikistan for girls 10 years old.
During European Immunization Week, awareness-raising activities are taking place across the country to increase confidence in vaccination and combat misinformation. There are also immunization rooms in clinics.
The Ministry of Health calls on parents, teachers, health workers and public organizations to support the campaign and disseminate reliable information about the benefits of vaccines.
