A fire broke out in an apartment in Nuuk on Wednesday. The fire was extinguished before it could spread. Five people were evacuated.
Wednesday afternoon has there was a fire in an apartment block in Nuuk on Svend Jungep Aqqutaa. The police received the report at 1:07 p.m.
This is reported by the chief of duty at the Greenland Police, Aqqalu Petersen, to Sermitsiaq.
The fire started in an apartment, and two adults and three children were evacuated. The fire was extinguished without spreading from the apartment.
Some of the evacuees were taken to Queen Ingrid’s Hospital to be examined, but no one was injured.
The police do not yet know the cause of the fire, investigations must be carried out first.
The apartment is cordoned off where the residents have been rehoused. The entrance where the apartment is is now freed, says the warden.
