The demands of the teaching profession They do not represent privileges, but rather the demand for a dignified retirement for State workers, stated the general secretary of Section 22 of Oaxaca, Yenny Lopezat the conclusion of the National Representative Assembly of the National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNT), which agreed to maintain the national strike and strengthen the mobilizations in Mexico City and the states of the country.
During the closing of the meeting, the leader maintained that, after the analysis carried out by the different union representations, the organization ratified the principles that have guided the CNTE during its 46 years of existence and endorsed the continuity of the national strike and the protest actions undertaken in recent weeks.
López pointed out that the demands of the teaching profession do not constitute privileges, but rather the demand for decent retirement conditions for teachers, administrative staff and education workers. Likewise, he stated that the demand has gained strength due to the commitments made by the current federal government during the campaign processes.

The leader highlighted that in addition to the activities scheduled in Mexico City, they will continue mobilizations in the states where the Coordinator has a presence, with the purpose of demonstrating national support for the movement.
Before the representatives of the different sections, he called to strengthen both the national sit-in installed in the capital of the country like the protest actions in the federal entities.
The National Representative Assembly was declared in recess at 2:27 a.m. on June 8. Before concluding the work, López reiterated that the CNTE will continue to demonstrate in the streets in defense of their labor and social security rights.
“Rights are defended”said the leader, insisting that the movement is made up of education workers who demand a dignified retirement for everyone.
Members of the CNT They will carry out protest actions this Monday at different media headquarters in Mexico City to present their demands, including the repeal of the ISSSTE Law of 2007 and the return to a solidarity pension system.
In accordance with the agreements of the National Representative Assembly which culminated in the early hours of this Monday, at 11:00 a.m. a press conference will be held in the vicinity of Paseo de la Reforma and Bucareli, while teachers will go to the facilities of Televisa Chapultepec, Multimedia Television Channel 6 and TV Azteca to spread their demands and positions.

Among the main demands of the movement are the repeal of the ISSSTE Law of 2007the elimination of the 2019 educational reform, the return to the pension system without Afores, better working conditions, a 100 percent salary increase to the base salary and the cessation of discounts for workers who have participated in the mobilizations.
Actions in the media are part of the strategy to expand the dissemination of teachers’ demands at the national level.
The leader of Section 9 of the CNTE in Mexico City, Pedro Hernández, will participate at 11:00 a.m. in the press conference called by mothers and fathers of the 43 normalistas from Ayotzinapa disappeared, an activity that will be carried out at the Antimonument to the 43, where a new day of actions by the families of the victims will begin.
