Reference: Morocco is consolidating its vocation as an African hub for international arbitration and becoming a regional reference, said Saturday the participants in the 9th edition of the Casablanca Arbitration Days, organized by the Casablanca International Mediation and Arbitration Center (CIMAC).
During the closing session of this two-day event, speakers highlighted that the last ten years have been marked by significant developments in the field of arbitration in Morocco, notably the adoption of a modern law on arbitration, the establishment of a prior conciliation mechanism within the framework of the Investment Charter, and the growing institutional development of amicable methods of dispute resolution. This rise in power is based on a convergence between asserted political will, structural legislative reforms and the development of credible arbitral institutions, making, in this case, Casablanca an essential hub for companies operating on the continent, they indicated, noting that the Casablanca Finance City (CFC), recognized as the first financial center on the African continent, illustrates the remarkable trajectory that the Kingdom has taken in the space of a decade. The participants also called for better accessibility of existing systems and the development of practical guides for investors.
