Chaired by the Minister of Agriculture, Ahmed El Bouarithe 16th edition of the national competition for the selection of the best quality ofextra virgin olive oilorganized in consultation with the olive oil industry INTERPROLIVEwas marked by the participation of 77 producers representing five regions of Morocco. This competition aims to encourage producers to adopt best practices in production, processing and marketing, in accordance with the standards of the International Olive Council.
This year, the distinctions were divided between four sensory categories: intense green fruity, medium green fruity, light green fruity and ripe fruity. In each category, three prizes were awarded.
In the intense green fruity category, first prize went to Company Oliveinvestin front Chania Company And Company Olea Capitalall three based in the Fez-Meknes region.
For medium green fruitiness, Olive Exploitation Company took first place, followed by Olive Oil Cartel Company And Maasrat Benmalloukrepresenting the region Marrakech-Safi.
In the light green fruity category, Maasra Brahim Zniber (Fez-Meknes) imposed itself in front of GIE Oued Zat And Stéphane Laurentboth from Marrakech-Safi.
Finally, in the ripe fruity category, GIE Zouyout Ait Attabfrom the Béni Mellal-Khénifra regionwon first place. Zitoun Company of Marrakech And Company Olico SA complete the podium.
Through this competition, the Morocco confirms its desire to strengthen the quality of its olive oil and to consolidate the competitiveness of a strategic agricultural sector, both on the national market and for export.
