Crime: Elements of the prefectural service of the Casablanca judicial police, assisted by those of the judicial police brigade of the Aïn Chock district, proceeded on Saturday on the basis of precise information provided by the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), to the arrest of two taxi drivers suspected of involvement in a case of assault and battery leading to the death of another second category taxi driver in Casablanca.
A press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicates that the judicial police services, supported by the scientific and technical police, had made, on April 26, the first observations of the lifeless body of the victim (74 years old), found in the Aïn Chock area and bearing traces of stabbing violence.
Field investigations and in-depth investigations made it possible to identify the two suspects aged 40 and 48 years old and the arrest of one of them in Oujda and the other in Casablanca, after their involvement in this crime was established, the press release added, noting that investigations are continuing to determine the exact motives and circumstances of this crime.
The searches also led to the seizure of a light vehicle in Casablanca, which would have been used in the commission of this criminal act, specifies the DGSN. The two suspects were placed in police custody pending the judicial investigation carried out under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, with a view to clarifying the ins and outs of this case.
