Member of the Albanian Alliance Ilir Chapuni he commented on yesterday’s statement of the President of the Assembly Andrije Mandić on the occasion of the ban on entry to Kosovo to the President of the Municipality of Nikšić Marko Kovačević and presidents of the Berane Municipal Assembly See Ivanovic
Yesterday, among other things, Mandić thanked the deputies from the ranks of the Albanian people, emphasizing that, as he said, they “understood the intention that someone wants to disturb the relations” between Serbian and Albanian politicians in Montenegro.
“As a deputy of the Albanian Alliance, I did not get the impression that someone from the Republic of Kosovo wanted to disrupt relations in Montenegro,” Capuni said in a post on Facebook.
On the contrary, as stated by Capuni, his understanding is that the competent authorities of Kosovo have assessed that there are security reasons for preventive action in relation to specific persons.
“Whether that assessment was correct or not, that can be discussed, but that is a matter for the decision of the institutions of a sovereign state,” said Capuni.
The MP of the Albanian Alliance added that Kosovo has shown that it acts through its institutions and within its jurisdiction.
“Just as we expect everyone to respect the decisions of the Montenegrin institutions, the right of other countries to make decisions in accordance with their laws should be respected as well,” Capuni concluded.
