Bendra is a new reinforcement of Olympia
The young right-back Kristjan Bendra is also officially a new member of the Slovenian first division football club Olimpija from Ljubljana. The 20-year-old is moving to Ljubljana from Austria, where he played for many years at Red Bull Salzburg’s academy, and was most recently a member of Graz’s Sturm.
“I am very happy and proud to have become a member of Olimpija. It is a club with high goals and great fan support, so the decision to come to Ljubljana was easy. I can’t wait to join the team and start working. I believe that I can contribute to the club’s success with my performances. I am also looking forward to working with the head coach, whom I know well from the junior national team selections,” he said Christian Bendrawho signed a contract until the summer of 2029.
The young Slovenian international took his first football steps in Koper, and then moved early to the Salzburg youth academy, where he spent most of his football youth. He first got a taste of club football at Liefering, and then continued his career at Sturm. In the past season, while regularly playing for the second team, he also played five times for the first team of Sturm.
The Ljubljana team is now led by Miša Brečka, whom Bendra knows well, as he played for practically all the younger selections of the Slovenian national team under his leadership.
Tien Goga will now also play for Olimpija. The former member of Gorica and the Slovenian under-18 national team, who plays as an attacking midfielder, has signed a four-year contract.
Before Bendra and Gogo, Olimpija was strengthened by Marvin Cuni, Federico Rose and Xande. But the latter, as it seems, will not be available to Breček for some time, as he was injured in Tuesday’s preparatory match against Vllaznia, which Olimpija won 4:0.
Many footballers left the club, including Mateo Aćimović, Pedro Lucas, Alex Blanco, Kelvin Ofori, Jasmin Kurtić, Agustin Doffo, Reda Boultam and Diogo Pinto.
