Raphinha experienced bad luck in the match of the second round of Group C of the World Cup, in which Brazil defeated Haiti 3:0 in Philadelphia. One of Brazil’s main assets had to leave the game in the 40th minute due to pain, and the situation on the field immediately worried the staff and fans.
Shortly after the match, his wife spoke about everything Natalia Rodrigueswho described the emotional moments the family goes through in the show.
“Actually, it was one of the first times in my life that I just didn’t know what to say to him. He was crying on one side of the screen, and I was crying inconsolably on the other. We talked on the phone, we talked…”, she said, then added:
“The next day he had some examinations and came home to be with me. We talked about everything. Now he is better, he is stable and completely focused on his goal. That is the most important thing – to stay mentally strong and believe that better days are coming.”
The Brazilian Football Federation later confirmed that it is a hamstring injury that requires intensive treatment, but the good news for Brazil is that Raphinha remains with the national team and will not leave the camp.
Although the injury came at an inconvenient time, the Brazilian camp believes that one of the key players will be able to recover in time for the tournament to continue.
