The Algerian international player, Baghdad Bounedjah, striker of the Qatari Al-Shamal Club, is among the three candidates for the Best Player of the Season award.

Bounedjah (34 years old) excelled during the past season with a strong performance, as he scored 12 goals, including 9 in the tournament, and provided 4 assists in 24 matches he played in various competitions. His team also finished the season in second place in the Qatar Stars League standings.
Bounedjah missed the last training session for the national team last March in Italy, but he may soon return to the ranks of the “Greens” in anticipation of the 2026 World Cup finals scheduled from June 11 to July 19 in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
