The Minister of the Moscow City Government, Head of the Department of Foreign and International Economic Relations in the Russian capital, Sergei Sheremin, confirmed the readiness of the Russian capital to accompany the state of Algiers in achieving its development goals within the horizons of the 2035 development and reconstruction plan, by sharing its expertise in the fields of infrastructure and digitalization..
This position came during the Russian official’s visit to Algiers on the occasion of organizing “Moscow Days” and the Russian-Algerian Business Forum, where he highlighted the potential that Moscow enjoys, especially in the applications of artificial intelligence in the sectors of housing, social affairs, education, and public health.

Speaking to Radio Channel 3 yesterday, Sunday, Sheremin pointed out that Moscow is among the most dynamic and transformative global cities, and also occupies a leadership position in the speed of completion of metro networks and the development of digital solutions, stressing the possibility of adapting this expertise to meet the needs of the Algerian capital, especially in the field of infrastructure development and the transportation sector.
In a related context, the Russian official described Algeria as “the gateway to the African continent,” highlighting the attractiveness of its market for foreign investments, given the major programs it launched in strategic sectors, including railways, port modernization, and city expansion.
He also explained that these major infrastructure projects are receiving increasing attention from Russian economic operators, especially in light of their presence in Africa through the United Nations Human Settlements Programme.
