— Last year I was third at this distance. Today I was able to get ahead of my opponent and take revenge. This year I put all my effort into training, and this is the result! – Olga said after the finish.
For Shmeleva, this award was already the third at the tournament in Hefei – she has one gold and two silvers.
World Championship bronze medalist Viktor Stepanov entered the top three in the single canoe competition at a distance of 200 meters.
In addition, the Kazakhstan team won two more bronze medals at a distance of 500 meters. In the double canoe, Sergei Emelyanov and Alisher Khayotov took third place, and in the double kayak, Bekarys Ramatulla and Dmitry Kholmogorov won bronze medals.
