A serious traffic accident has occurred in the Czech Republic, near Boršov nad Vltavou (South Bohemian Region). A bus with Hungarian license plates collided with a passenger car on Highway 143, Idnes.cz reports.
The crash left 13 people injured. The bus was carrying around 30 passengers, eight of whom sustained injuries. Four people were traveling in the car, and all were injured in the collision.
Of the occupants of the Mercedes with Slovak license plates, one woman suffered serious injuries and one man suffered moderate injuries. They were immediately taken to the hospital. After receiving emergency care outside the hospital, both were transported to the trauma center at the hospital in České Budějovice.
Following an investigation of the accident scene, police believe that the car failed to adjust to the slippery, wet road conditions, skidded, crossed into the opposite lane, and collided with the bus.
The driver of the car was likely not driving appropriately for the road conditions on the wet road, lost control, and collided with the bus,”
said police spokesperson Lenka Krausová. “The police estimate the damage caused by the accident at approximately 2 million Czech korunas (82,000 euros),” she added.
