The National Directorate of Traffic Operations (DNOT) of the National Police will maintain surveillance and control operations on the country’s main roads, given the movement of drivers inland during these days.
Lieutenant José Sánchez, of the DNOT, explained in an interview with Telemetro Reporta that there will be police units deployed nationwide to supervise traffic, regulate circulation and safeguard the safety of drivers.
Regarding the possibility of implementing lane inversions, the official indicated that these measures will be activated according to the behavior of the vehicle flow and the needs that arise on the roads.
So far, the vehicle capacity exceeds 53 thousand vehicles, so the authorities will continue to monitor the roads to determine if it is necessary to apply changes to circulation.
The National Police recommended drivers to drive with caution, respect speed limits and pay attention to traffic signs, with the purpose of preventing accidents while traveling.
