Activist Andi Tepelena has commented on the developments of the civic protest that has been going on for weeks in Tirana, stating that its organization is taking place spontaneously and without a predetermined direction.
According to Tepelena, the participating groups are aware of the need for this process to continue, while the citizens have united around a common goal, the departure of Prime Minister Rama.
He stated that the citizens have created a new way of communication through social networks, bypassing, according to him, any attempt to prevent the spread of the protest message by the government, which, as he said, has engaged an entire army of patron Nazis.
“The regime has engaged an entire army of patron Nazis, but we have won this battle, because it is the influencers, the citizens, who, through photos and videos, are showing that they are a channel of communication, like a separate media. This message is bypassing any kind of censorship or way to drown out the voice of protest”said Tepelena.
Tepelena emphasized that the protest does not aim to overthrow the political system, but to change it and that the parties have a great opportunity to change. Also, he emphasized that the main demand of the protest has remained the same since the first day, the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Andi Tepelena: “Decisions” in the protest are made naturally, there is no philosophy that says these things will be done. The groups are aware that this process must be carried forward, we are all on the same wavelength. This is inspiring everyone. It is a way to avoid the pressure exerted by the regime, which has engaged an entire army of patron Nazis, but we have won this battle, because it is the influencers, the citizens, who, through photos and videos, are showing that they are a communication channel, as a separate media. This message is bypassing any kind of censorship or way to drown out the voice of protest.
The union has come gradually, because of course there are groups that think differently about the future of the country, but there is one thing that unites them, that this government must end once and for all, it must leave. I am not talking about overthrowing a political system, but about liberating this system. It seems everyone agrees. A new era must come. They now have the chance to reform, if they don’t, they will end up in the dustbin of history.
The protest is a spirit that stands by the principle from the beginning, which is the demand for the resignation of Edi Rama. The square is for everyone, like a festival of democracy, but with a popular revolt inside.
