Activist Andi Tepelena has commented on the continuation of civil protests in Tirana, contradicting rumors that the number of participants has decreased, since, according to him, the protest has maintained stability.
“They say that the number of protesters has shrunk, but that is not the case. The numbers are stable. People come every day, young people, families. We are within expectations. Once a week, on Saturday, there is a national protest, where people from all over the world, the diaspora, participate.” he said.
Tepelena said that the scandals of the government and Prime Minister Rama, whom he referred to as “King”, have already come to light and in front of Albanians.
“The scandals of this government are coming out in the light of the sun and in front of the Albanians. We will dismantle it to the last point. The “king” is already naked. And one of the victories of this protest is to bring the king out naked, unwashed, because of the corruption that is rampant”he said to News24, while adding that “Edi Rama should leave an hour ago”.
Also, he clarified that the large protest called for July 2 is related to the exodus of Albanians towards the embassies and the mass departure of citizens from the country for economic reasons.
Andi Tepelena: I see a measure that says the numbers of protesters have shrunk, but it hasn’t. The numbers are stable. People come every day, young people, families. We are within expectation. Once a week, on Saturday, there is a national protest, where people from all over the world, the diaspora, participate.
This is resistance, we are dismantling the regime. The scandals of this government are coming to light and in front of Albanians. We will dismantle it to the last point. The “king” is already naked. And one of the victories of this protest is to bring out the king naked, unwashed, because of the corruption that is rampant.
July 2 is a symbolic date, the flight of Albanians to embassies, where the depopulation of Albania began for economic reasons, and this has happened every year. And it must be decided once and for all who will flee Albania, the Albanian people or Edi Rama.
I say that Edi Rama should leave an hour ago. This is a reason for the Albanians of July 2 to return, for the diaspora to return from emigration to decide the country’s fate. This protest has achieved a national cohesion.
