On the field to try to contain the crisis after the video criticizing Flavio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), the president of the PL, Valdemar Costa Netohe must say this Tuesday (30) to the former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro that, without it, the party could lose this year’s election to Lula (PT).
Valdemar and Michelle will meet at the PL headquarters in Brasília. “I don’t know what the conversation will lead to. I just know that, if we lose Michelle, the election will be very difficult for us,” Valdemar told the column.
Flávio’s aides disagree with the PL president’s view and have sought to minimize the impact of the video released by the former first lady last Wednesday (24) — in which she said she was mistreated by her stepson after criticizing the formation of the party’s ticket in Ceará.
The central argument is that, despite all the repercussion of the case, internal and research did not indicate a downward trend in voting intentions for the senator neither among women nor among evangelicals.
Even so, this Monday (29), with Flávio in Argentina for two meetings with President Javier Milei, the senator’s assistants began to consider a truce that even included the offer of the position of vice-president to the former first lady — an idea that has not yet been approved by the pre-candidate.
Among members of the PL, there are doubts regarding the viability of the former president of Caixa, Daniella Marques, for the post. Daniella, for now, is Flávio’s favorite name. The uncertainty would be about the ability of the administrator, affiliated with the Republicans, to bring votes to the campaign.
Valdemar, who advocates that Michelle run for the Senate in the Federal District, has told interlocutors that the final decision on the vice will be up to Flávio and the former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
From Argentina, Flávio did a live broadcast aimed at women. The senator said that Brazilian women support more than 70% of homes and still face violence and highlighted that this issue is economic, not ideological.
