While South Greenland is affected by rain and potentially a rare thunderstorm, the sun will shine to the north.
Friday is approaching one low pressure itself Southwest Greenland. This means that there will be more clouds and that the rain will spread over the Paamiut area and large parts of South Greenland.
And it can even cause local thunder, which is otherwise rare in Greenland.
This is what DMI – Kalaallit Nunaat writes on their Facebook page.
However, there will be big contrasts. Further north on the west coast, especially from Maniitsoq to Uummannaq, the weather becomes much more summery with lots of sun, writes DMI.
Here, temperatures are expected in many places to be between 12 and 18 degrees, and locally the temperature can reach around 22 degrees.
East Greenland also seems to get a good amount of sun, so there will be good opportunities to enjoy the summer weather, while clouds and rain dominate further south.
– So it really is a Greenland with two very different faces: Autumn-like weather with rain in the south – and summery temperatures and lots of sun further north. Enjoy the sun where it appears, writes DMI.
