The second meeting of senior officials in preparation for the first Central Asia–Republic of Korea summit was held in Tashkent. Turkmenistan was represented at the meeting by Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmet Gurbanov, according to the press service of the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Representatives of the foreign ministries of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and South Korea also participated in the meeting. The parties discussed preparations for the upcoming summit, draft final documents, and issues of further strengthening multilateral cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and the Republic of Korea.
The summit is scheduled for September 2026. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov is expected to attend.
