
On Wednesday, Algerian international player Mohamed Elamine Togay was subjected to a 12-month suspension.
The punishment was issued by the Disciplinary Committee of the Tunisian Football Federation, against the backdrop of the events of the match between Esperance and its guest, Club Africain.
This confrontation was played on May 10, for the 29th and penultimate round of the Tunisian championship, and ended with Club Africain winning 1-0.
Because this match was crucial regarding the championship title, which was returned to Club Africain after its victory. It included non-sporting events, especially by the defeated local team, Esperance, and its defender, Mohamed Lamine Togay, who will participate with the national team in the World Cup, which begins this Thursday.
Of course, this punishment will not affect Tugay’s participation in the World Cup, as it relates to Tunisian football competitions as an exception.
