The incident occurred on September 8, 2024, when one of the women deceitfully intercepted the nurse in the Great Metropolitan Terminal from San Pedro Sula, Cortés. Minutes later, the victim was forcibly put into a van and taken under threats to a home in the Concepción de Choloma neighborhood.
With the victim subdued, the criminals contacted the victim’s family to demand the amount of 30 million lempiras. Desperate, the relatives negotiated a down payment of 148,800 lempiras through a bank deposit; However, the criminals decided not to release the nurse.
Subsequently, specialized teams of prosecutors and the National Antikidnapping Unit (UNAS) of the Police Investigations Directorate (DPI) activated an immediate trace. Just three days after the kidnapping, the authorities carried out a raid in Choloma, managing to rescue the nurse safely and capture the three women.
