    The events occurred in the afternoon, specifically around 1:45 pm, when the tranquility of the residential area was interrupted by the sound of detonations produced by firearm projectiles. Given the noise, the inhabitants of the sector contacted the emergency line to alert the public force about the situation of violence that was developing on public roads.

    Upon arriving at the scene of the emergency, the uniformed National Police found a 54-year-old citizen with serious injuries to his body.

    The victim was helped and immediately sent to the hospital facilities. Kennedy Hospital for the purpose of receiving specialized medical care; However, due to the severity of the impacts received, the man lost his life shortly after entering the care center.

    The reconstruction of the events, based on security records in the area, allows establishing a precise chronology of the attack, which would have occurred, in accordance with the authorities’ main hypothesis, in the midst of a theft and freight case.

    According to the recording of the cameras, known for Citytv, from the EL TIEMPO Editorial House, It was around 2:07 in the afternoon, when a gray car parked on a main street in the Boitá neighborhood. The deceased was traveling in this vehicle.

    At that moment, a woman got out of the passenger door to walk towards a nearby store. Simultaneously, an individual who was already at the site after getting off a motorcycle He violently intercepted the woman, snatching an object she was carrying in her hands, which, according to testimony, was a briefcase.

    While the assault was being carried out, the driver of the vehicle observed the attack from inside the car. Upon realizing that the criminal was boarding the motorcycle where an accomplice was waiting for him to flee, The 54-year-old man decided to react by ramming the subjects with his car.

    “The National Police allows you to report the capture of a 31-year-old citizen by the crime of homicide in the town of Kennedy, events that occurred in the Boitá neighborhood around 1:45 pm, where the community informs the National Police about some shots fired. Upon arriving at the care area, at the scene of the incident, they found an injured person, who was taken to the hospital, where he later died,” the uniformed officer explained in a first official communication.

    To advance the collection of technical and testimonial evidence, officer Montilla explained that “the National Police established an investigative bubble in order to clarify this fact.”

    For his part, in an interview with Citytv, the commander revealed that the institutional investigation has focused on verifying whether this event corresponds to a specific type of theft or freight. In this regard, he explained the sequence of events, specifying that the victim “observes an unusual situation and tries to verify what was happening with a family member” at first. Finallyupon seeing “the aggression, immediately collided with one of the motorcycles where the subjects were traveling.”

    The officer reported that the special unit seeks to fully identify the traceability of the assault and determine if there was prior monitoring of the gray vehicle from another point in the city.

    Regarding the captured person, the authorities reported that he is a 31-year-old man who has a considerable criminal record.. The lieutenant colonel pointed out “this person had notes for different crimes, such as personal injuries, theft, possession and trafficking of firearms, homicide and domestic violence. Thanks to the timely reaction of the community and the National Police, the characteristics of the perpetrators are found and they are captured.”

    It was indicated that, for now, the detainee was left “at the disposal of the competent authority for the crime of homicide and reception” and that the motorcycle used by the attackers, which was trapped under the chassis of the victim’s car, was immobilized and underwent technical inspections.
