The transparency board met this Saturday and set the new wholesale and retail fuel prices.
According to today’s decision, dated May 2, oil has decreased by 2 lek since the last time and starting this afternoon, it will be sold at 206 lek per liter.
Meanwhile, the price of gasoline has also been reduced by 1 lek, and will be sold at 184 lek per liter.
The prices set by the Board will come into force today at 2:00 PM and will be valid until the next meeting of the Board where the changes in sales prices will be reflected.
Notification
On May 2, 2026, at the next meeting, the Transparency Board decided:
✅The retail price of the gasoil by-product of the SSH EN 590 standard should be no more than 206 ALL/liter, while the wholesale price no more than 194 ALL/liter.
✅ The retail price of the SSH EN standard gasoline by-product should be no more than 184 ALL/liter, while the wholesale price no more than 172 ALL/liter.
️The prices set by the Board will come into force today at 2:00 PM and will be valid until the next meeting of the Board where the changes in sales prices will be reflected.
⚠️We draw the attention of every wholesale and retail operator of oil by-products on the obligation to implement this decision.
In case of violations found by different operators, the suspension of the activity will be imposed.

CLARIFICATION: Referring to Normative Act no. 1, Date 3.4.2026 “For an addition to Law No. 61/2012, “On excise duties in the Republic of Albania,” amended, where it is provided that in the event that the retail price for diesel is higher than 220 lek/liter, or for gasoline is higher than 200 lek/liter, the 80% level of excise duty is applied. Based on the application of the methodology for calculating ceiling retail prices, the prices are below the limit of Normative Act no. 1, dated 3.4.2026, and therefore the excise duty level will be applied in full, 100%.
