Ms. Augustinavičienė’s candidacy was submitted to the Seimas by President Gitanas Nausėda, 74 Seimas members supported her at the reception, one was against, and 20 abstained.
73 MPs supported the dismissal of D. Jas, who had completed two terms of office at that time, 73 of J. Dilienės, there were no votes against, they will end their duties on June 13, Saturday.
M. Augustinavičienė will take office on June 14.
The head of the country previously stated that he expects the new member of the energy regulator to ensure the protection of vulnerable consumer interests, as well as efficient and balanced regulation of economic entities operating in the energy, water management and waste sectors, reduction of administrative burden and implementation of innovations.
M. Augustinavičienė previously worked at VERT and the Communications Regulatory Service (RRT), since 2019. served as a member of the Competition Council.
Renatas Pocius is currently holding the post of VERT reminder, the council consists of two more members – Matas Taparauskas and Karolis Januševičius.
