Maputo (Mozambique), June 24, 2026 (SPS) – Today, Wednesday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Affairs, Mr. Mohamed Yeslam Bisset, was received by the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Mr. Daniel Francisco Chapo, who handed him a written message from his counterpart, the President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Ibrahim Ghali.
During the reception, the Sahrawi Minister conveyed to the Mozambican President the greetings of his brother, President Ibrahim Ghali, expressing the deep appreciation and gratitude of the struggling Sahrawi people, leadership, government and people, to the Republic of Mozambique for its principled historical position and its continued support for the just Sahrawi cause in various international and continental forums.
The meeting was an opportunity through which the Sahrawi envoy informed his recipient of the latest developments in the Sahrawi issue at the diplomatic and field levels, and the path of the Sahrawi people’s struggle to complete their national sovereignty.
For his part, the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Mr. Daniel Francisco Chapo, renewed his country’s permanent and firm position alongside the Sahrawi people and their just cause, stressing Mozambique’s absolute support for the Sahrawi people’s inalienable right to self-determination and independence.
The Mozambican President also expressed his complete satisfaction with the level of distinguished bilateral relations and the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation that exist between the two brotherly countries, stressing the common will to strengthen and develop them in a way that serves the interests of the two peoples.
The meeting was attended, in addition to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Affairs, the Ambassador of the Sahrawi Republic to the Republic of Mozambique, Mr. Sid Mhamed Ahmed. (Was)
