The man who was found in a ravine at Háafoss this evening was dead when rescue teams arrived.
The police in Southland report this in a notification.
“Now at seven o’clock this evening, a report was received about an unconscious person at Háafoss. The first responders were called as a matter of priority. The person was dead when they arrived,” the announcement says.
Rescue teams were called out as a matter of priority after a man was seen in a ravine at Háafoss. The man was taken by helicopter to Reykjavík.
An extensive but unsuccessful search for a tourist who failed to return to accommodation last Tuesday was postponed until Wednesday evening. It is not known whether it is the same person.
