Jón Þórarinn Þorsteinsson is in Iceland’s national handball team for the first time for the friendly matches against Egypt next month.
“He has been good this winter and according to the league, he plays with the second best team,” national team coach Snorri Steinn Guðjónsson told mbl.is today.
“He’s played well in the final against Val. He’s a guy we’ve been keeping an eye on and we’re moving forward in terms of goalkeeping.
It seems that we need to find Bjögga’s successor. Breki was with us last time, Einar Baldvin has been with us and now Jón Þórarinn. Ísak is back with us now,” explained Snorri.
