Alireza Kazemi, in the virtual session of the Islamic Council in the presence of members of the presidium of the Islamic Council, representatives and the Minister of Science, Research and Technology, while honoring the memory of the martyrs of power, the martyred commanders and the martyrs of the 12-day war, stated that education is fully prepared to provide the ground for the presence of students, educators and families in the funeral ceremony of the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution.

Referring to the performance of the Ministry of Education during the war, he said: the activities of this ministry were focused on the four axes of managing war conditions, implementing the document of fundamental transformation, implementing the tasks of the 7th development program and preparing for the start of the new academic year.

Education was not stopped under any circumstances

Emphasizing the continuation of the education process in critical conditions, Kazemi added: Shad Network, Iran Television School, and the production and distribution of textbooks for underprivileged areas were the three main education platforms that did not allow the education process to stop.

He also announced the implementation of psychological and social support programs for students and families and continuous communication between schools and parents and said: cultural and educational activities were also followed in the school, classroom, virtual space, media and social environment.

Final exams start on July 21

Referring to the decisions taken regarding the final exams, the Minister of Education stated: Initially, the exams were planned to start on July 13, but due to the funeral ceremony of the martyred leader of the revolution, these exams were postponed for a week.

He added: The final exams will start on July 21 so that students, families and educators can attend this ceremony.

Kazemi emphasized: The timing of the national entrance exam and the special exam of Farhangian University will be adjusted according to these changes and will be held based on the new calendar.

Reducing the effective lessons of the 11th grade

Referring to the new approvals to reduce students’ concerns, the Minister of Education said: The number of effective lessons for the 11th grade has been reduced from 11 lessons to 6 lessons, and the possibility of restoring the grade of a single subject for this year has been approved.

He added: Establishing the effect of academic records in entrance exams is another important decision that was reached with the cooperation of the Islamic Council, the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution and the Education Commission.

Damage to more than 1500 schools

Kazemi said about the damages caused by the 12-day war: a total of 1,507 schools have been damaged, of which 1,744 schools have been repaired and ready for use by allocating about one Hamat of credit.

He estimated the amount of damage to schools at around 3.7 hem and said that the complete reconstruction of the damaged schools will be pursued with the participation of school-building benefactors, jihadi groups and other capacities of the country.

    Ordering 90% of textbooks

The Minister of Education informed about the preparation of this ministry for the next academic year and said: So far, about 11 million students out of a total of 12.5 million middle school students have registered their textbooks, which is equivalent to 90% of the target population.

He added: Most of the textbooks have been printed and ready to be distributed, and part of the educational content has been devoted to the introduction of the war martyrs, the leader of the martyr revolution, and the promotion of the culture of sacrifice, resistance and defense of the homeland.

A happy network requires infrastructure development

In another part of his speech, referring to the state of the Shad network, Kazemi said: despite the holding of numerous expert meetings and the approval of development plans, credit restrictions still prevent the complete improvement of the infrastructure of this network.

He expressed his hope that with the cooperation of the government and parliament, the necessary resources will be provided to increase the capacity of the servers and improve the services of the Shad network so that this educational platform can meet the needs of students and teachers across the country.
