Trips during the Midsummer holidays are almost sold out, tour operators interviewed told LETA agency.
Liāna Pudule-Indāne, sales manager of the Latvian tour operator SIA “Novatours”, told LETA that almost all trips for the Midsummer holidays are currently sold out, but there are still some places available to Montenegro, Bulgaria and Turkey.
At the same time, she said that there is no clear leader in the top of the most popular destinations. Latvian travelers chose, for example, the Greek islands of Corfu and Crete, Spanish resorts near Barcelona and Malaga, as well as Cyprus.
Pudule-Indāne added that the destinations of the Middle East region are more in demand during the winter period, therefore there is no direct impact of the conflict on the demand for summer destinations, however, the increase in travel prices is visible due to high fuel costs. Thus, travelers choose their trips a little more carefully.
She emphasized that there are no significant changes in the sales volume of “Novatours” summer trips this year.
The chairman of the board of the tour operator SIA “Tez Tour” Rolands Birģelis told the LETA agency that this year the demand for trips during the Midsummer holidays has been very high. According to him, virtually all trips during the Midsummer holiday period from June 20 to June 27 are sold out. At the same time, some places are still available in the Calabria and Peloponnese programs, but their number is very limited.
Birgilis informed that the most popular destinations during the Midsummer holidays are Antalya in Turkey, Burgas in Bulgaria, Heraklion in Greece, Peloponnese in Greece, Calabria in Italy, Rhodes and Corfu in Greece, as well as other destinations in Spain, Italy, Georgia and Cyprus.
He summarized that the interest in the most popular destinations, especially Antalya, remains very high, because, for example, all flights to Antalya during the Midsummer holiday period are completely sold out. At the same time, he stated that “Tez Tour” does not see a significant drop in travel demand due to the situation in the Middle East.
